Hundreds of mourners filled St Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney to farewell police constable Mia Lay, 20, who was killed in a collision while on duty. She was posthumously awarded honours at the funeral service.

In the Beau Lamarre-Condon murder trial, a detective became emotional in the witness box while giving evidence about the discovery of victims. The moment drew a reaction from people in the courtroom. Separately, hundreds assembled at Bondi Beach for a vigil held to mark three years since the Hamas-led attacks of 7 October 2023. The gathering stood in remembrance as the anniversary was marked across the city.
