Mike Ditka, Chicago Bears Legend, Dead at 86

Mike Ditka passed away on 9 October 2026 at age 86. ESPN, NBC News, and The Guardian all reported his passing. He was a legendary tight end and longtime coach of the Chicago Bears.

Ditka suited up for Chicago as a player, then later returned to coach the Bears to a Super Bowl 20 win. He went into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and remains one of the most recognised names in NFL history.
